Manny - Out My Way

Manny began writing music at the age of 12.  Rapping, producing, and engineering at 14 and singing at 17.  He used to make full length rap albums that were self-produced and sell them at his high school.  He went under the alias of Famous back then.  He never sold too many copies but everybody knew he loved music and that he had a passion for it.  He sang on one of the songs on the 3rd album at the age of 17 and his manager at KFC said he didn’t sound bad and that he should sing more.  He began singing and decided to join the college chorus and took vocal lessons later in college.  He studied Entrepreneurship & Management with a Minor in Music and began making R&B/Reggae songs that caught a lot of local attention.

He did a few performances when possible and recorded and released new music on his YouTube channel whenever he had free time sharing mostly on Facebook.  His music started moving out of state.  First to New Hampshire and then to New York.  He decided to move out of state post graduation in Massachusetts .  He was accepted to FIU to study a Masters in Finance but never ended up going after being caught up having to work to pay bills.  During February of 2012, his song Out My Way and What Was I Thinking started taking off in New York.  Out My Way, in particular garnered a collective 2 million views (not including hundreds of thousands of soundcloud streams).  He didn’t know how to handle the situation and just watched it happen as he continued to work.  4 years later, his best friend/manager convinced him to move to NY to pursue his career.  He moved in August 2015, established the label in the same month, quit his job in November and released his current EP in February.

Song Meaning: “Out My Way has been a blessing for myself and for my fans.  The song depicts me talking to a girl who’s currently going through a struggling relationship.  I give her power and self-confidence so that she can see for herself that she can find better and also admit to her that the reason that I know she can do better is because I would.  “I’ll go out my way to make you happy.”
